Thought I’d drop a new quick welcome to a new member on poetshome.com. A friend/penpal/chat partner I’ve kept in touch off and on for the last few years is now on the blog site There’s not much there yet, but eventually, maybe . So, welcome to Violeta

Ok, I finally got trackback working It’s working pretty well at the moment. Took a bit of debugging, particularly since it doesn’t look like the pings that moveable type sends actually makes use of POST vars. But, we’ll see how well things work here later. It doesn’t do remote pings however. I’ll enable that later.

The fun part on all of this? I enabled trackback support in about three hours of late night coding. And yes, I’m completely and totally nuts. As a friend and I discussed.

Ok, did yet another site update which most won’t notice. This is more on my administration end Basically, I’ve got an initial admin panel which allows me to add entries, delete entries, and delete comments as needed. Later, I’ll add support for banning a commentor based on ip address, filtering, etc. etc. BUT, pretty good as I didn’t have an admin panel at all when I started.

Ok, now the fun part – go back, update some code to allow different users their own “blog” system. This shouldn’t take too long, and once it’s done, a major segment of the code will be completed and operational. Then, it’ll be a matter of creating alternate “styles” for use, and letting people have the source code. Cheers!

There’s a free version without all the whistles and bells you can use.

RSS is a technology allowing “subscription” to a website giving you the latest updates to that website on a regular interval.

Well, we’ll see how this works I’ve updated the website to work with comments. Hopefully, it’ll work all well and sweet and stuff. Hmm, now lets see, add support for submitting articles instead of by hand and the code is getting much better. Then, I need a nice admin interface, multi-site support, etc. etc. etc….

UPDATED – 11/11/2003 - Updated to use a php and mysql system. Feel free to email me if you’d like a copy of the code, under the GPL license. It’s no where near complete, as I’m aiming for a full BLOG system.
